Rehabilitation
Physical, occupational, and speech therapists work together to develop an individualized therapy plan for each resident. Residents in specialized rehabilitation programs want to regain the self-confidence and abilities they lost during their illness or injury and to help them reach their full potential. To assist our residents in regaining their independence, we provide a variety of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs that utilize the most advanced rehabilitation technology.
-
Physical TherapyPhysical therapy can help patients regain their mobility and independence after suffering from orthopedic or neurological disorders. The utilization of cutting-edge methods helps patients regain their full range of motion while also reducing their level of discomfort. You may get closer to your functional goals by increasing your range of motion strength, coordination, and muscular control.
-
Occupational TherapyOccupational therapy aims to help residents regain their ability to do everyday tasks such as washing, dressing, and eating after a medical or physical condition. Our therapists employ rehabilitation approaches and teach residents how to use specialized equipment in order to maximize function and mobility.
-
Speech TherapyIn speech-language therapy, the resident's ability to express themselves verbally and solve problems, read, write, and articulate their thoughts more clearly is improved. Treatment for swallowing problems is also provided by therapists.
Our Life Enrichment & Social Programs
At Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility, the Life Enrichment team focuses on providing a wide variety of scheduled and spontaneous activities each and every day.
As a registered Eden Alternative Home following the practices of its founder, Dr. Bill Thomas, we believe that our elderly should never face loneliness, helplessness, or boredom. We strive to discover the social, emotional, and spiritual needs and interests of each resident and provide activities that hold meaning and lead to enjoyment, supportive new relationships, and a healthy sense of well-being.
Here are just a few of the activities our Life Enrichment team offer:
Bingo and other games
Resident support and council meetings
Cooking group
Happy hour
Exercise group
Sing along
Crafts
And many more!
Our residents can relax quietly in their rooms by reading, watching TV, talking to other people, knitting, playing games, or doing other things. They can also choose to take part in programs. Our activities are adapted to the physical and cognitive needs of the individual so that all may participate, considering their ability.
Our Activities Department
These energetic folks represent just a few of the staff from our Activities Department. They keep our residents from being bored, lonely and isolated. We appreciate their efforts!
I would love to tell you more about our Life Enrichment and Eden Alternative Programs. If you have questions, please phone me. We look forward to enriching your loved one’s Life!
